ELEMENT DISABILTY SERVICES

Who we are, what we do, and why we do it?

Hi, I’m Kellie
– and I am the founder of Element Disability Services.

I grew up on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria and began working in the disability sector in 2001. I was drawn to working in this field as I love working with people, however it was clear to me that this sector was outdated and needed some real change – a breath of fresh air if you like.

Being new to the world of disability with fresh eyes it was surprising to find that there were so many people working in this sector that did not connect with their work and the people they work with; people who did not love their job! This ignited the determination in me to strive for better for not only those living with disability, but also for the people working in the sector to feel good about the immensely important work we do.

Over the years I have worked in different areas of the disability space, from personal care, social and community support, disability employment services and education, sales and marketing. These roles were all stepping stones to immersing myself back into what is really important to me – working with people 1 on 1 and helping to make a real difference in their lives.

I often found myself searching for answers on what to do, where to go and who to go to for advice. There seemed to be so many pieces – or “elements” – to the NDIS that were at times confusing and overwhelming, and there needed to be a role that helped bring all those elements together in a way that was easy to navigate. This is where the idea for Element Disability Services was born.

Fast forward to all these years later and I find myself immersed in the world of NDIS. I immediately knew that I am still in this sector for the right reasons because I love what I do and still have that fire in me to strive for better.
